- Type 1. Capitals sans-serif, 21 mm x 2.5 mm. Not seen on the 1s which is presumed to have been printed in May 1880, so this Type must have been used before this date. Seen on perforated issues only
- Type 2. Roman capitals, 23.5 mm x 3.25 mm. It was introduced in mid to late 1880. Seen on perforated issues only
- Type 3. Capitals sans-serif, 15 mm x 2 mm. Known imperforate and perforate. It is thought to have been introduced around 1880. Alan Griffith has suggested that this handstamp may have been applied to these stamps as part of the Queensland Government material prepared for Universal Postal Union distribution circa 1895

- 6d in black diagonally downwards (perforate)
- 1s in black diagonally upwards (perforate)
- 1d in red horizontally (imperforate)
- 4d in red horizontally (perforate)
- 6d in red horizontally (perforate)
- 1d duty stamp in black horizontally (Type 3b) (perforate and imperforate)
